Paver calculator
A patio starts with a good count.
Calculate patio paver counts, base volume, and bedding sand from your own dimensions and material assumptions.
Clear math. Better decisions.
A worked example
A 20 × 10 ft patio using 12 × 12 inch modules needs 200 pavers by area. With 10% extra, plan for 220. Before allowance, a 4 inch base occupies 2.47 cubic yards.
Before you order
- Use the installed module size, including the planned joint if relevant.
- Area-based counts are an estimate. Detailed patterns, mixed sizes, and edge cuts need a layout.
- Base and bedding depths are examples, not engineering advice. The price estimate covers pavers and entered fixed costs only.
Good questions.
Does the price include the base and sand?
No. Their volumes are shown for ordering, but the budget here covers pavers and your entered fixed costs only. Add other materials as separate project items or request a complete supplier quote.
Will the count work for a herringbone pattern?
It is a starting area estimate. Cuts, border pieces, multiple sizes, and pattern layout can materially change the purchase count.
